History: Chartered in 1959 as a school for children with special needs, MARC has since grown into an organization widely respected for its advocacy and delivery of a wide range of programs for individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. MARC is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

 

Mission: MARC empowers individuals to live a full and meaningful life by affording them the opportunity to live, work and play in the community.
 
Vision: MARC strives to realize a community in which individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoy full access to community life.
 
Purpose: MARC offers highly personalized programs and services to individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities by helping them make life choices based on their individual interests and dreams, achieve their personal best with dignity and respect, obtain a job or be involved in an employment environment based on their individual abilities and share in the wholeness of the community.

Owned and operated by MARC and open to the public, Opportunity Park is Midland’s only completely accessible park making it possible for all people to recreate together, side by side. The gazebo is available for rent for birthday parties, family and school reunions, etc. by calling the MARC office at 498-8590 to reserve it.
